The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the first generic version of generic metronidazole vaginal gel (MetroGel, QLT USA), a treatment for bacterial vaginosis. This infection is characterized by vaginal discharge, and it results from an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina.
