Generic Antidepressant Approved
Purepac Pharmaceutical Co., a subsidiary of Alpharma, has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market generic citalopram hydrobromide tablets in strengths of 10, 20, and 40 mg. This product is the generic equivalent of Celexa medication (Forest) for the treatment of depression.
