NEXIUM Is Better For Keeping Up Cure Of Erosive Esophagitis
According to the new facts published in this month’s issue of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology NEXIUM medication (esomeprazole magnesium) is better in preventing relapse of erosive esophagitis (EE). A new inquiry showed that in more than 1,000 patients with healed erosive esophagitis, Esomeprazole drug is more effective in comparison with Lansoprazole (Prevacid) and others proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
Acid reflux disease is considered to be a condition when the valve between the esophagus and stomach doesn’t close in a proper way, and so acid drips into the esophagus. Symptoms of acid reflux disease and erosive esophagitis can be such as persistent heartburn (a burning sensation), a sour or bitter taste in the mouth, acid regurgitation and difficulty swallowing.
The research was pursued in the group of randomized, the double-blind, double-dummy patients who took Esomeprazole 20 mg once a day. The aim was to compare the endoscopic and symptomatic remission rates of Generic nexium with those of Lansoprazole drug in patients with cured grade A-D erosive esophagitis. (According to the Los Angeles Classification System Grades A and B indicate mild erosive esophagitis, and C and D represent severe disease.
A number of 1,026 patients were prescribed to once-daily therapy with either NEXIUM 20 mg or Lansoprazole 15 mg for up to six months. Both NEXIUM drug and generic Lansoprazole were well-tolerated by patients. An examination of the esophagus, stomach and upper part of the small intestine was conducted at three and six months, and patients in both groups had no heartburn or acid regurgitation symptoms during the week prior to each endoscopy.
The lead study investigator, director of gastrointestinal research, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Jacksonville, Florida, Kenneth, MD suggested that if an acid-suppressing medication is discontinued, symptoms of erosive esophagitis will commonly relapse within a year, because in many patients symptoms are chronic. But he marked that the study found out the effectiveness of Esomeprazole tablets for clinical success – maintaining healing of erosive esophagitis.
So, one should buy Nexium for treating frequent, persistent heartburn and other symptoms associated with acid reflux disease as well as healing erosive esophagitis. Esomeprazole medication also is effective for reducing the risk of gastric (stomach) ulcers developing among at-risk patients on continuous non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) therapy.
In Mr. Esomeprazole DeVault’s opinion, Nexium therapy is able to control both mucosal damage and reflux symptoms.
